Holland Pop Festival 70, Kralingse Bos, Rotterdam, the Netherlands

Transcribed by Phil Salathe

Tape fades in.

Announcer: [...for coming to our festival], the Pink Floyd!

Applause; AD begins. Scattered applause near taper right before first verse. Applause at end.

Dave: Thank you!

Roger: Thank you.

Loud thunk in taper's mic during break in tuning.

Roger: We're gonna play two things together now, run together, the first is a song called Green is the Colour... and the second thing is, uh, an instrumental off our Ummagumma album and it's called Careful With That Axe, Eugene.

Applause, a little more tuning, GitC starts, then CWTAE. Very clear, brief clapping -- one person -- near taper a few seconds into CWTAE. Applause at end.

Roger: Thank you.

Tape cut.

Roger: [Can we turn the shade down a little bit, please...[thank you]...I suppose that [would be] [...] but the power [went off and we have to all get] start -- get started.

Tuning, tape cut, more tuning.

Roger: Okay, this -- this next piece is something that we've-- (breaks off, sounds surprised, a little bemused) [All right], don't like something that we've been recording recently and it'll be one side of our next album.

Thump on stage, unintelligible shout in crowd. Drum thumps, tuning. VERY loud feedback. Straight into AHM, which opens with drum triplets, i.e. no plane motor tapes. Rick bobbles the fourth chord of his first organ bit pretty badly. Clicking sounds near taper's mic before and a bit into falsetto section. Applause at end.

Roger: Thank you.

Dave: Thank you!

Tuning, a couple incomprehensible shouts in crowd.

Tape cut, a bit more tuning.

Roger: Well, it seems the sun is about -- it's just beginning to show itself, before [we do]* our last number, we'll just do Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. *[or "we give"]

Applause. StCftHotS starts. Applause at entrance of guitar/theme. Applause at end.

Roger: Thank you.

Tape cut.

Organ chords, tuning, tom hits.

Roger: Okay...this is the last piece we're gonna play, tonight...and it's...

Shouts in audience.

Roger: ...[a track off] our last album, [but one], and it's called a Saucerful of Secrets.

Applause, organ notes, tom rolls.

ASoS follows. Sounds like Gilmour goes high on last note, but it's hard to hear. Applause at end, heavy and extended feedback for 10-15 seconds.

Roger: Thank you.

Dave: Thank you!

Roger: Bye.

Announcer: The Pink Floyd! The Pink Floyd!...Ohh...Woo!...Oh...Good morning, Pink Floyd!

Cheering, applause continues, rhythmic clapping in semi-unison.

Announcer: The Pink Floyd! [We]* thank you! *[or "And"]

More applause, then loud cheers erupt, applause quiets as PF return to stage.

Tuning, feedback, quite a bit of tuning.

Roger: Okay!...As some of you probably know, we were playing at Bath in England yesterday, which is the same kind of thing as this and it was really nice there, but -- I mean, it was really nice in Bath, but here it's just incredible...

Cheering starts.

Roger: I can't tell you what good vibes everybody's [showing] at this festival.

IO starts. My tape cuts right before the end of IO.
